Is there such a thing as current limiting wire?
If so, what is is called? And where can I get some?
I take it what you are asking for is wire in which the resistance goes up as the current goes up. All the metals I know of behave in the opposite manner. Otherwise I think you have to use a current limiting circuit. I'm going to star this one to see if anybody else knows of another way to do it. Might be able to do something clever with mercury, where the heat of the current causes it to expand and spill the excess into another channel also conducting to go back to the first so the level is self regulating. Or, vaporize it and condense it to flow back in.
If you can think of a way to do that then any molten metal might be able to be made to work.
