Is a KAM KXR 1500 Amplifier (specs below) enough to get the quality out of a pair of speakers?
Amp specs (750W RMS @ 4 Ohms | 450W RMS @ 8 Ohms per Channel S/N Ratio 90dB | THD 0.1%) speaker specs(210 watts rms(peak 300) 8 ohms impedance, Sensitivity (1w/1m): 93 dB )
should i also need a pre amplifier or an equaliser????. the source is my laptops soundcard
That is a powerful amp for a DJ. You don't need a preamp. You can run it directly from the soundcard using a 3.5mm to RCA cable. Your laptop probably has a built in equalizer.
Just be careful to watch the lights on the amp when you are playing it loud. They should only light occasionally on peaks - not all the time. Those lights show when the amp is distorting. Distortion damages speakers.
