Where could I get the service manual for Kenwood integrated amplifier model KA-50?
I really need the power supply schematic diagram for it. I need to find out how much volts it works with.
I need to replace the transformer but i don't know what to get.
Are you sure that the transformer is dead? Is that the only problem?
If there was a surge you might have other problems. Check the diodes using a multimeter they should conduct in one direction only. If they have failed you will AT LEAST have to make this repair as well, but you might also have many more problems caused by the surge.
If the diodes seem fine, if you have voltage on the primary side of the transformer, AND if you have not voltage on the secondary, then you might get away with simply replacing the transformer. I strongly recommend getting this from Kenwood, or a supplier like Pacific Coasts Parts. They should be able to send the transformer DESIGNED for your amplifier.
If not... I am guessing that the KA50 had discrete outputs (transistors rather than a chip). I would expect the secondary voltage in that case to be ABOUT 50 to 70 VAC.
