Contact Tachometer
I have a '97 lancer GLXi, the tachometer, speedometer and odometer turn on and off without warning.. help!?
the tripmeter resets, the tach and speedo turn off. sometimes it is working for a few minutes then turns off. sometimes it is off and after driving for a few minutes, tuns on again. it does not matter if it is parked and idle or cruising.
here are the steps i tried to do:
* remove gauges and sanded the contact points until very clean.
* clean the contacts for the tach. 1st spark plug? (not sure)
i hope you could help me...
You can also try cleaning the fuse for the gauges.
If this does not work you may have a crackes circit board or loose ground wire in the harness.
