PS3 game save space?

My friend (seriously not me, I'm getting the 60GB version) was worried about how much space game saves will take up on the 20GB PS3. He was reading the wikipedia article on Resistance: Fall of Man, and it said under the storage section that it would take 16GB.

From the article:

"The final game has been revealed to be just over 16 GB. It was originally going to be 22 GB, but Insomniac cut out the PAL movies because NTSC movies can be "converted on the fly to look really good on PAL TVs". Ted Price also confirmed that there was a strong push to reduce disc size in order to shorten burn times during the testing period."

He didn't know what this means, and I believe is is talking about how much information is on the disk, but I'm not sure. With the 20GB version, will he have to worry about space for game saves?

www.g4tv.com I watch them on tv 24/7. Technology and entertainment super network. Im planning on buying the 60Gig Harddrive myself. The 16 gigs will be the Blu-Ray Disc that the game is on, this will not be downloaded or burned into your hardrive on the console, where he got this idea or you did is beyond me, there would be no way to have more than 3 or 4 games, a game save is very simply and a very small file, it just needs basic scripts in it to tell the game what your stats were when you saved and where you were loacated. The harddrive will most likely not even be used for gamesaves, if so then you have no worries, the 20gig harddrive would hold thousands of different game saves. Im sure the harddrive (and this has been stated by Sony) will be used for media storage, as in pictures and video, and music also. And other things, its even supposed to be internet capable to browse the web, at least from rumors. I would say to tell him not to worry, just enjoy the system, the 20 gigs will do fine if he has less than 20,000 pictures, (ive got 3,000 and that takes about 5gigs.).
